Do I need to pay a deposit?

A 50% deposit is required. Payment options are sent after Kibabu Cars receives the completed contract. Booking is confirmed once deposit is received.

How is the rental price calculated?

Charged per day (24-hour period).

Are taxes and insurance included in the total price?

No taxes or insurance are included in the base rental price.

Driver Requirements
What is the minimum age to rent a car?

Minimum age: 18 years. Maximum: 78 years. Driver must hold a valid license for at least 1 year.

Are there any additional requirements for young or senior drivers?

No additional requirements for young or senior drivers in Zanzibar.

Can I add additional drivers?

Yes, you can add more additional drivers.

Do all drivers need to be present at pickup?

No — only one driver needs to be present at pickup.

Do I need an International Driving Permit (IDP)?

IDP is not mandatory. We accept either a national driver’s license or an International Driving Permit to issue your Zanzibar permit.
